Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd seeks a Senior Operations Supervisor - Associate to lead System & Network Operations. The role focuses on proactive monitoring, incident management, and overseeing change implementations for critical applications and infrastructure.

You will supervise a team, coordinate with DevOps for deployments, and ensure compliance with ITSM practices while handling complex data and operating under irregular hours.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education with technology major.
• Minimum 7 years IT operations or system administration experience, with ≥3 years in supervisory or team lead role.
• Strong communication skills, especially in incident handling and escalation scenarios.
• Proficiency in Linux, Windows, AWS, Azure, VMware, or Docker; knowledge of z/OS is a plus.
• Deep understanding of kernels, filesystems, and comfortable with command-line interfaces.
• Experience with middleware like Apache, Tomcat and IIS; familiarity with Oracle, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and ITSM concepts (ITIL/ServiceNow).
• Know-how of networking basics: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor the performance and availability of applications, servers and systems.
• Use monitoring tools to track system health and performance metrics.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, errors and outages.
• Perform checking and fixing on servers per HKEX procedures.
• Ensure changes, deployments, fixes and patches are tested and released with proper signoffs.
• Coordinate with DevOps/engineering for deployments, updates and patches.
• Record incidents, assign owners, track progress and ensure timely resolution per ITIL lifecycle.
• Provide guidance and escalation support to the team during shifts.
