Job summary

Morgan Mckinley Limited is seeking a senior IT modernization leader to drive the upgrade of a mission-critical Student Information System (SIS) and migrate applications to cloud platforms. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• At least 10 years' experience in IT application modernisation and cloud migration.
• Professional certification in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP or Alibaba Cloud) is an advantage.
• Solid experience with relational database management systems (Sybase, MS SQL Server).
• Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams and internal/external resources.
• PMP certification is an advantage for project governance.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise modernisation in data-intensive environments; SIS exposure is desirable.
• Ability to translate strategic vision into practical plans and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of the SIS and migration of IT applications to cloud platforms.
• Provide expert guidance on architecture, modernisation strategies, and cloud migration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver user-centred solutions.
• Manage project planning, execution, and governance to ensure timely delivery.
• Supervise internal teams and external consultants from SIs.
• Engage business users to translate requirements into actionable user stories.
• Coordinate with Infrastructure and Security for smooth delivery and compliance.
• Identify vendors/consultants, negotiate contracts and oversee compliance.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
• Perform ad hoc duties as required by supervision.

Job description

Lead strategic initiatives to modernise a mission-critical Student Information System (SIS) and migrate IT applications to cloud platforms.

Champion continuous service improvement and technology innovation in line with organisational objectives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated, user-centred solutions that enhance stakeholder satisfaction.

Provide expert guidance on application and system architecture, modernisation strategies, cloud migration, and emerging technology trends.

Manage project planning, execution, and governance to ensure initiatives are delivered effectively and on schedule.

Act as the subject matter expert, supervising internal teams and external consultants from system integrators.

Engage business users to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories for application development and enhancement.

Work closely with Infrastructure and Security teams to facilitate smooth project delivery.

Identify, assess, and manage vendors and consultants, including contract negotiation and compliance oversight.

Monitor and analyse system performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement.

Perform ad hoc assignments and responsibilities as requested by the supervisor.

Key Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

At least 10 years' experience in IT application modernisation and cloud migration.
