Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced IT leader to modernise a mission-critical Student Information System (SIS) and oversee cloud migration across applications.

You will guide architecture, manage cross-functional teams and vendors, and ensure delivery on schedule while driving service improvement and innovation. Candidates should have 10+ years in IT modernisation, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years' experience in IT application modernisation and cloud migration.
• Professional certification in public cloud platforms is an advantage.
• Solid experience with relational database management systems, such as Sybase or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and internal and external resources.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills; PMP certification is an advantage.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise application modernisation, preferably within complex, data-intensive environments; prior exposure to Student Information Systems is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to translate strategic vision into practical plans and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic initiatives to modernise a mission-critical SIS and migrate IT applications to cloud platforms.
• Champion continuous service improvement and technology innovation in line with organisational objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated, user-centred solutions that enhance stakeholder satisfaction.
• Provide expert guidance on architecture, modernisation, cloud migration, and emerging technology trends.
• Manage project planning, execution, and governance to ensure initiatives are delivered effectively and on schedule.
• Act as the subject matter expert, supervising internal teams and external consultants from system integrators.
• Engage business users to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories for development.
• Work closely with Infrastructure and Security teams to facilitate smooth project delivery.
• Identify, assess, and manage vendors and consultants, including contract negotiation and compliance oversight.
• Monitor and analyse system performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimisation.
• Perform ad hoc assignments and responsibilities as requested.
