Job summary

Lingnan University is seeking a Senior Information Officer to join the Information Technology Services Centre. The role focuses on security incident investigations, SOC operations, and support for IAM and KMS systems across the university IT infrastructure.

The candidate will participate in 24/7 operations, adapt to irregular hours, and collaborate with an outsourced SOC to deliver regular cybersecurity tasks and investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Hands-on experience with network security products (Firewall, EDR, SIEM, Secure Email Gateway, NAC, WAF, IDS/IPS).

Responsibilities

• Conduct security incident investigation and response for the University’s IT infrastructure.
• Carry out daily operations and first-line diagnosis for network security issues and services.
• Operate SOC, collaborating with outsourced SOC for cybersecurity tasks and investigations.
• Support enhancement of SIEM, including onboarding, management and detection logic development.
• Support development, operation and maintenance of IAM and KMS systems.
• Work shifts and irregular hours as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security incident investigation and response activities for the University’s IT infrastructure.
• Carry out daily operations and first-line diagnosis for network security issues and services.
• Conduct Security Operation Centre (SOC) operation, working with an outsourced SOC to provide regular and ad hoc cybersecurity tasks and investigations.
• Provide support on the enhancement of Security Information and Event Management System (SIEM) including security platform and application events onboarding, management and detection logic development.
• Provide support on the development, operation and maintenance of Identity & Access Management (IAM) system, Key Management System (KMS).
• Work shifts and irregular hours as required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Requirements

• A recognized Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Hands-on experience in network security products including Firewall, EDR, SIEM, Secure Email Gateway, Network Access Control, WAF, IDS/IPS and MSS handling.
• A strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and technologies, data protection, SSO/MFA, operating systems, and key management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective user support.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with inventory management tools and practices.

Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at the relevant rank.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years.
