Job summary

Maples Group in Hong Kong seeks a Senior Fund Accountant to provide fund administration for portfolios mainly comprising private equity funds, hedge fund funds, and PE fund vehicles. You will handle NAV preparation, cash reconciliations, and interactions with investment managers and auditors.

The role requires a professional accounting designation and 3–4 years’ fund accounting experience, with strong English communication and Cantonese proficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduate with excellent academic background and a professional accounting designation.
• 3–4 years’ relevant experience in investment fund accounting and offshore funds administration.
• Good English communication skills; Cantonese required; Mandarin a plus.

Responsibilities

• Daily processing of transactions for a portfolio of funds and preparation of cash reconciliations.
• Prepare NAV files for medium complexity funds.
• Liaise with investment managers and fund administrators on transaction activities and NAV preparation.
• Prepare client compliance files, maintain client databases, and perform general admin for client funds.
• Acquire mastery of reporting systems used for client and internal reporting.
• Liaise with auditors and coordinate with clients for year‑end audits.
• Coordinate with Maples teams to ensure timely delivery of client queries and deliverables.
• Understand and apply Maples Group controls and procedures.
• Assist in invoicing and collection of receivables, liaising with auditors for information.

The Opportunity

The Senior Fund Accountant reports to the Vice President and provides fund administration services to a portfolio of funds, mainly private equity funds, fund of hedge funds and fund of PE funds.

Primary responsibilities include:

• responsible for daily processing of transactions for a portfolio of investment funds and the preparation of cash reconciliations
• prepare Net Asset Value (“NAV”) files for a portfolio of medium complexity investment funds.
• liaise with investment managers and administrator of underlying funds (where applicable) in relation to transaction activities as required for transaction processing and NAV preparation.
• prepare client compliance files, maintain the client database and perform general administrative functions related to client funds.
• Acquire and develop a mastery of the systems used for client and internal reporting.
• Liaise with auditors and coordinate with clients to ensure the smooth completion of the year-end audit.
• Coordinate with various teams within the Maples organization to ensure client queries and deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
• Acquire an understanding and application of The Maples Group’s relevant organizational controls and operational procedures.
• assist in the invoicing process, collection of receivables and will liaise with auditors to provide requested information and respond to queries.

• will be a graduate with an excellent academic background, a professional accounting designation and at least 3 to 4 years’ relevant experience in investment fund accounting and offshore funds administration;
• Good English communication skills and be able to speak Cantonese. Mandarin will be a plus.

• Ability to handle work/client deliverables with tight deadlines.
