Job summary

Manulife is seeking an senior full-stack software leader in Hong Kong to develop and maintain an end-to-end application stack across frontend, backend and cloud infrastructure. You will participate in architectural discussions and drive feature design while guiding a cross-functional team in a SCRUM environment.

Role requires 8+ years of full-stack development with 5+ years in a leadership capacity, strong Java/Spring Boot and Angular/Node.js skills, and experience with Azure cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of full-stack software development experience; minimum of 5 years in a leading role
• Proficiency in Java, Springboot, Angular, Node.js/React, Azure DB, JavaScript, AKS & Azure cloud services
• Solid experience with Alibaba cloud, Polar DB, AI technologies are an advantage
• Experience with DevOps, RESTful API design, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and version control
• Strong understanding of performance optimization and coding standard
• Collaborative mindset with ability to coach, mentor and lead teams
• Experiments with emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next
• Familiarity with insurance industry and distribution compensation systems is a plus
• Experience managing sizable projects or programs is preferable

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end-to-end application stack including frontend, backend and cloud infrastructure
• Participate in architectural discussions and design new features and systems
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and industry norms
• Debug and resolve technical issues with cross-functional teams
• Apply best practices for security including authentication, authorization, encryption and threat mitigation
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code
• Manage vendor to ensure timely, high-quality and cost-effective deliverables
• Contribute to Agile planning and SCRUM delivery of user stories
• Provide production support during non-office hours as required
