Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock is seeking a Lead Security Architect to design and implement robust security strategies across global systems, data, and networks. You will drive security governance, threat modelling, and architecture reviews while guiding teams through cloud and on-premise deployments.

The role emphasizes coordinating with enterprise architecture, risk management, and development teams to embed security into the lifecycle and leverage AI-enabled security tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or related field.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP or CCSP are required.
• At least 10 years in senior information security architecture roles.
• Experience in financial services and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with SABSA, Zachman, or TOGAF.
• Hands-on security infrastructure management (firewalls, IPS, WAFs, SIEM).
• Security of CI/CD pipelines and threat modelling exercises.
• Designing IAM solutions including AD/LDAP and AWS IAM.
• Experience securing multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement global security frameworks and reference architectures.
• Translate business and threat drivers into security roadmaps.
• Conduct financial evaluations of security technologies and TCO/ROI analyses.
• Draft plans for security deployments and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, development, risk, and IT teams.
• Lead risk assessments and prioritize mitigations with global risk management.
• Evaluate new security technologies and AI/security tool integration.
• Mentor development teams and communicate complex security concepts to executives.
