SCMP Learn, the education unit of the South China Morning Post, is seeking an experienced Event Project Manager in Hong Kong to lead a portfolio of youth programs, conferences, and talks from concept to delivery. You will manage budgets, liaise with designers, vendors and venues, and ensure profitability while upholding SCMP standards.

A minimum 8 years in event management, strong leadership, and excellent English writing are required; the role is based at our Causeway Bay office on a 6-month

Qualifications

• 8+ years of event management experience within corporate, education, or consumer industries.
• Proven track record in large-scale conferences, community engagement, and production management.
• Ability to innovate, work independently, and build comprehensive project plans.
• Excellent project management, multitasking, and deadline-driven skills.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, influencing, and decision-making capabilities.
• Adaptive, proactive, and customer-centric with diverse client management.
• Experience with event platform tools (Cvent) is a strong plus.
• Strong English communication and copywriting skills.

Responsabilités

• Plan and lead the execution of events from concept to delivery.
• Oversee event operations, logistics, and setups to SCMP standards.
• Coordinate with designers, vendors, service providers, and venues throughout project phases.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to meet goals.
• Manage event budgets and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Share knowledge of industry best practices, new vendors, services, and venues.
• This is a 6-month contract role with the potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
