Job summary

Jardine Engineering Corporation (JEC) in Hong Kong is seeking a Building Services/Mechanical Engineer to monitor site activities and coordinate with clients, suppliers, and project teams. The role supports tendering, budgeting, drawings, and equipment submissions while ensuring compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years’ experience in fire services or related building services, with strong project management, problem-solving and communication

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–3 years related experience in fire services or building services.
• Knowledge of building services installation and relevant regulations.
• Strong teamwork, project management, problem-solving and communication.
• Bilingual in English and Chinese.
• Proficient in MS Office Project and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Monitor site activities and liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and project teams.
• Assist in tender, budget proposals, drawings and equipment submissions and project coordination.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure installations meet contractual and statutory requirements.
• Monitor progress, conduct site inspections, testing and commissioning, and manage defect rectification.

Job description

Monitor overall site activities and liaise with different stakeholders including clients, suppliers, subcontractors as well as project teams throughout the whole project;

Participate in preparing tender, budget proposal, drawing and equipment submission as well as project coordination and management;

Provide technical advice and guidance to project teams and subcontractors to ensure all site installation works are complying with contractual and statutory requirement;

Monitor the progress of project and conduct periodic site inspection, testing and commissioning of building services installations and follow up on defect rectification work if required.

Job Requirements

Degree holder in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering (Preferred background in air-conditioning or fire services);

1-3 years related experience, especially fire services or related building services engineering fields;

Proficient knowledge of building services installation and relevant statutory regulations;

A good team player with agile mindset. Strong project management, problem-solving and communication skills are essential;

Good command of both English and Chinese;

Proficient in MS Office Project and AutoCAD.
