Job summary
Michael Page International (HK) Ltd in Hong Kong seeks an experienced engineer to lead SMPS design and power conversion activities. You will collaborate with global engineering teams to develop robust power architectures, validate designs, and support NPI through production release.
The role requires hands-on circuit simulation, testing, and documentation, with travel to overseas facilities as needed. This is a full-time position based in Hong Kong.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of solid experience in SMPS design and development.
- Strong knowledge of power conversion topologies including LLC, Flyback, PFC, Buck, and DC-DC converters.
- Experience in product validation, troubleshooting and manufacturing support.
Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual design of SMPS/PSU and power conversion circuits through calculation, simulation and analysis.
- Develop and evaluate power architectures including Flyback, LLC, PFC, DC-DC and related topologies.
- Build prototypes and perform design verification testing; generate technical reports and documentation.
- Create production test plans and support manufacturing implementation; troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Support NPI activities and ensure products meet performance, quality, reliability and cost requirements.
- Collaborate with R&D, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams; drive continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support for overseas factories, suppliers and customers; occasional travel.

- Lead conceptual design of switched-mode power supply (SMPS& PSU) and power conversion circuits through calculation, simulation, and analysis
- Develop and evaluate power architectures including Flyback, LLC, PFC, DC-DC, and related topologies
- Build engineering prototypes and perform design verification testing
- Generate technical reports and engineering documentation for product validation
- Create production test plans and support manufacturing implementation
- Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigations for design and production issues
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensure products meet performance, quality, reliability, and cost requirements
- Collaborate with R&D, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, product performance, and manufacturability
- Provide technical support for overseas factories, suppliers, and customers
- Occasional travel is required
- 5+ years of solid experience in SMPS design and development
- Strong knowledge of power conversion topologies, including LLC, Flyback, PFC, Buck, and DC-DC converters
- Extensive understanding of power supply components, magnetics, transformers, EMI/EMC, and thermal design
- Experience in product validation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and manufacturing support
- Hands-on experience with circuit simulation tools and laboratory test equipment
- Experience in NPI, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration
- Digital Power Control, PMBus, DSP, or Server Power Supply experience is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to advanced power conversion technologies and new product development programs
