Job summary

APJ Software (HK) Company Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a Database Patch Management Engineer to lead end-to-end patching across Oracle, IBM DB2, MySQL and PostgreSQL. You will manage downloads, staging, application of security patches, and CVE remediation while ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime in live banking environments.

You will collaborate with application support, QA and risk teams, develop runbooks and rollback procedures, and implement automated checks to validate patch

Qualifications

• 5–7 years hands-on database patching in production banking environments
• Experience with Oracle, IBM DB2, MySQL and PostgreSQL patching and upgrades
• Linux/Unix server administration and shell scripting
• Strong data security and CVE remediation knowledge

Responsibilities

• Perform full lifecycle patching for Oracle, IBM DB2, MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Validate patch behavior against banking workloads and ensure data integrity
• Coordinate cross-environment rollout with zero-downtime strategies
• Develop runbooks, rollback procedures and SOPs
• Monitor post-patch health, replication lag and backups
• Collaborate with application teams for end-to-end testing after patches
