Job summary

APJ Software (Hong Kong) Company Limited is seeking a Middleware Infrastructure Engineer (WebSphere) to support our banking clients. You will manage patch lifecycles for IBM WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ and JDK runtimes in production environments.

The role requires hands-on upgrades, validation, and runbook development, with collaboration across application teams and security/compliance controls in a financial services setting.

Qualifications

3–5 years’ hands-on middleware patching and upgrades in live banking environments.
Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (8.x/9.x) and WebSphere MQ.
Strong JVM runtime administration and cluster configuration skills.
Linux/Unix server admin, scripting, and production issue troubleshooting.
Knowledge of security/regulatory controls in financial services.

Responsibilities

Perform patching, fix-pack updates, and version upgrades across environments.
Validate patch compatibility with core banking apps and plan remediation.
Execute zero-downtime patch rollouts and build runbooks.
Post-deployment health checks, audit logs, and issue remediation.
Prepare RFCs, deployment risk assessments, and CAB presentations.
Collaborate with multiple tech teams and business units.
