Job summary
Amazon Data Services Hong Kong Limited is seeking a Data Center Engineer to support 24/7 facility operations. You will monitor electrical and mechanical systems, perform routine rounds, and respond to emergencies while coordinating with contractors and training junior staff.
This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and cost-conscious operations. Applicants should hold a relevant engineering diploma, have 5+ years of experience, and possess REW Grade A (or above) with Green Card and Construction
Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in electrical/mechanical/building services engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
- Valid REW certificate (Grade A or above) and Green Card + CWE registration.
- Willing to rotate shifts to cover 24/7 operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents.
- Experience with BMS and EPMS control systems.
- Competent with basic computer software including Windows/Linux and MS Office.

- Assist in developing, reviewing and updating MOP/SOP to meet internal standards.

The Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Team is the backbone of AWS, supporting the rapid growth of AWS business and customers 24x7. - Rotating shift work is required to maintain 24/7 operations coverage

Also expected from the EOT is the ability to execute small-to-medium impacting projects from conception to completion. These projects involve moderate amounts of independent work as well as collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, and finance in controlled environments. The EOT will be tasked with creating and delivering key milestones, obtaining and tracking quotes for all necessary costs, and documenting project results. The goals of such projects are to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

- A Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline is typically required.
- 5+ years of electrical or mechanical practical and technical experience
- A valid Registered Electrical Worker (REW) Certificate, Grade A or above
- A valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) and a Construction Workers Registration Card are required.
- Work on a rotating shift to maintain 24/7 operations coverage.
- Able to independently operate, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Demonstrated experience in utilizing BMS and EPMS control systems
- Basic proficiency in computer software applications, including operating systems (e.g., Windows / Linux) and the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
