M. Moser Associates Limited, a leading global design engineering practice, is seeking an experienced Senior Building Services Engineer to drive concept engineering, due diligence, Basis of Design development and early technical engagement for workplace and building projects across Asia.
You will lead coordinated technical solutions with Architecture, Sustainability and Building Physics teams to elevate building performance and value.
The Senior Building Services Engineer plays a key role in delivering M Moser's integrated Engineering, Technology & Sustainability (ETS) services across Asia.
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong understanding of both engineering design and project delivery. Candidates with experience working for leading contractors, design-build organisations or engineering consultancies are encouraged to apply. Practical delivery experience, constructability and engineering judgement are as important as technical design capability.
As ETS continues to evolve, this role places increasing emphasis on concept engineering, technical due diligence, Basis of Design development and protecting engineering intent throughout the project lifecycle. Rather than focusing solely on detailed design production, the role helps clients and project teams make better technical decisions earlier, reducing risk and improving project outcomes.
Working closely with our Architecture, Workplace Strategy, Sustainability, Smart Buildings and global engineering teams, you will contribute to integrated solutions that improve building performance, workplace experience, operational efficiency and long-term value.
We are looking for engineers who are curious, adaptable and committed to improving how work is performed. Technical excellence remains fundamental, but we increasingly value engineers who think beyond their own discipline, contribute to better methods and help build capability across the wider practice.
Lead technical due diligence and early engineering engagement for workplace and building projects.
Develop Basis of Design documents that establish clear engineering intent, system strategies and project priorities.
Support clients and project teams by identifying technical risks, opportunities and alternative approaches early in the design process.
Protect engineering intent throughout design, procurement and construction.
Work closely with Architecture, Workplace Strategy, Sustainability, Smart Buildings and Building Physics teams to develop coordinated technical solutions.
Ensure engineering decisions support constructability, workplace performance, sustainability objectives and commercial outcomes.
Act as a trusted engineering advisor throughout project delivery, supporting project teams, consultants, contractors and clients.
Apply practical delivery experience to improve engineering quality, buildability and commissioning outcomes.
Review engineering proposals, contractor submissions and technical solutions from the perspective of delivery, risk and operational performance.
Support value engineering while maintaining design intent and long-term building performance.
Resolve technical issues proactively to reduce downstream rework and project risk.
Lead engineering reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure engineering solutions remain aligned with the agreed Basis of Design.
Maintain technical quality, consistency and engineering standards across projects.
Support technical governance and quality assurance across regional teams where appropriate.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering methods, workflows and technical standards.
Share lessons learned and support development of reusable engineering knowledge across ETS.
Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve coordination and strengthen delivery capability.
Support the adoption of improved tools, methods and digital workflows where they create practical value.
Mentor junior engineers and support their technical and professional development.
Contribute to knowledge sharing across offices and disciplines.
Build capability across the wider team through coaching, collaboration and technical leadership.
Actively contribute to the development of the future ETS practice.
Minimum 8 years' experience in mechanical building services engineering across commercial workplace or similar sectors.
Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and integrated MEP systems.
Demonstrated experience developing Basis of Design documentation, technical due diligence and engineering strategies.
Strong understanding of engineering delivery, procurement, constructability and commissioning.
Familiarity with sustainability frameworks including LEED, WELL and low‑carbon design principles.
Experience coordinating with architects, contractors, consultants and specialist suppliers.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong engineering judgement and sound technical decision-making.
Systems thinking and an understanding of how engineering influences wider project outcomes.
Curiosity and a commitment to continually improving how work is performed.
Ability to balance technical excellence with commercial, programme and delivery considerations.
Confidence working across disciplines and collaborating with globally distributed teams.
Clear communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Commitment to building capability in others through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Experience with BIM and Revit coordination.
Familiarity with engineering analysis and simulation tools appropriate to engineering design.
Comfortable adopting new digital workflows and technologies that improve quality, consistency and efficiency.
Understanding of how data and digital workflows can support better engineering decisions and project outcomes.
You will create clarity where projects are complex, improve how work is performed, build confidence with clients and contractors, contribute to stronger engineering capability across the business and help ETS continue evolving into an integrated, high‑value technical practice.
