Job summary

Hong Kong Arts Development Council seeks a dedicated professional to build and manage the Arts Information Centre (AIC) collection, ensuring records are collected, appraised, catalogued, digitised and preserved in line with international standards and the organisation's priorities.

Qualifications

• A recognised university degree, preferably in library/information science or records/archives management.
• Minimum of 4 years of work experience.
• Experience gained in a public body, university, museum, or arts and culture institution will be an advantage.
• Willingness to work on a five-day work week basis with mandatory shift duties on weekends.
• Familiarity with database systems and data standards for cataloguing and managing archives.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage the Arts Information Centre (AIC) collection.
• Collect, appraise, catalogue, digitise and preserve records in accordance with standards.
• Provide professional customer services at the service counter and assist visitors and staff.
• Prepare periodic progress reports related to AIC projects, collection management, and environmental conditions.
• Identify gaps in the AIC collection and support ongoing development.
• Set duty rosters for part-time staff and provide training and supervision.
• Ensure delivery of counter services that create a welcoming and professional experience.
• Support public engagement initiatives, assist in marketing, and deliver guided tours.
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
