Job summary

Leigh & Orange Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Architect to lead design projects from concept to construction. You will ensure drawing quality, coordinate with consultants, and manage client relationships.

The role requires registration and 8+ years post-qualification, experience across Institutional/Residential/Government/Hospitality projects, and proficiency in Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp. You will mentor juniors and drive project delivery in HK and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Registered Architect with minimum 8 years post-qualification (HKIA/RIBA/AIA/etc)
  • Experience in Institutional / Residential / Government / Hospitality / Railway projects experience are preferred
  • Knowledge of or experience with sustainability rating systems (e.g. BEAM Plus, LEED, WELL) is a plus
  • Expertise in projects management and familiar with architectural statutory requirements for Hong Kong
  • Proficient in Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and simulations software
  • Less experience may consider as Architect

Responsibilities

  • Handle design projects from concept design to construction stage;
  • Report to the Director on a regular basis regarding all design production works, design coordination / construction issues. To alert the Director when elements of the design or details are not working and offer solutions to solve it;
  • Lead the project for Hong Kong / other regions effectively and proactively under the guidance of the Director and coordinate with other consultants / contractor / other disciplines;
  • Responsible for the correctness and accuracy of the drawing work, quality, layout and notes by checking the works submitted by the teams, as well as the coordination of drawings amongst the team and other disciplines;
  • To set a good example in the team to lead juniors to grow in everyday learning;
  • Provide back-up assistance to other members within the team and cultivate a good team relationship;
  • Monitor construction work during all stages of construction;
  • Ensure assigned projects are completed accurately within budgets and schedules while meeting client needs, business objectives and design guidelines;
  • Establish and manage a work plan to achieve the requirements of the plans, including safety issues, building codes and other technical aspects;
  • Complete construction administration from tender through project close out;
  • Maintain a good relationship with Client’s project manager as Senior are L&O’s day to day contact. Good relationship is shown by e.g. client giving feedback that we have good service, timely follow up of actions, and wanting to ask us to do new projects/ bids, increasing performance scores;
  • Keep abreast of the latest software enhancements to increase productivity and to share the knowledge with colleagues
