Job summary

BBVA Hong Kong is seeking a senior Institutional Coverage professional to drive client engagement and expand equity derivatives business across Asia, focusing on Hong Kong and Singapore. You will coordinate with Trading, Structuring, e-Connectivity and Sales Trading to deliver tailored multi-asset solutions, oversee onboarding, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires fluency in English and Chinese, a strong revenue mindset, and the ability to translate market insights into action in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in structured products with a strong focus on equity derivatives.
• Data-driven and able to translate market insights into revenue opportunities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth through strategic account planning, client coverage and tailored multi-asset investment product solutions.
• Bring client relationships for existing and potential business opportunities.
• Serve as a senior liaison between clients and internal teams (Trading, Structuring, e-Connectivity, Sales Trading) to translate client activity into insights.
• Oversee and continuously improve the client onboarding process, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Champion initiatives that improve operational efficiency and scale processes for expansion.
• Ensure high-quality bilingual trade documentation for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Provide market colour, sales commentary, and tailored market insights to key institutional clients.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and product developments.
• Report on business performance, pipeline, and key issues to management.

Job Purpose & Objectives

Drive client engagement, optimize sales operations, and lead strategic expansion across the Equity Derivatives commercial franchise in Asia. Focus on key institutional client coverage, including Private Banks, Securities Houses, and Family Offices across Hong Kong and Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth through strategic account planning, client coverage, and tailored multi-asset investment product solutions.
• Bring client relationships for existing and potential business opportunities.
• Serve as a senior liaison between clients and internal teams (Trading, Structuring, e-Connectivity, Sales Trading) to translate client activity into actionable insights and enhance service delivery.
• Oversee and continuously improve the client onboarding process, ensuring seamless integration and regulatory compliance.
• Champion initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce operational risk, and scale processes to support business expansion.
• Ensure high-quality bilingual trade documentation for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Provide market colour, sales commentary, and tailored market insights to key institutional clients.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and structured product developments.
• Report on business performance, pipeline, and key issues to direct management while supporting broader regional strategic initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in structured products with a strong focus on equity derivatives.
• A strategic thinker who takes initiative, anticipates challenges, and drives solutions with speed and precision.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to leverage market insights for revenue optimization.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
