Job summary

Ang Mo Kio - Thye Hua Kwan Hospital (AMK-THKH) is seeking a Resident Physician to join our team providing first-line clinical coverage for rehabilitation and subacute patients under supervision by senior doctors.

You will conduct ward rounds, clerk new admissions, and prepare discharge summaries, while also performing ward procedures and being on-call during night shifts. A Singapore Medical Council–recognised medical degree and at least 3 years post-housemanship experience are required.

Qualifications

• Medical degree recognised by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) is required.
• At least 3 years of post-housemanship working experience as a Medical Officer (or equivalent).
• Possess post-graduate diploma or degree would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ward rounds and manage acute medical issues.
• Clerk new patients and prepare discharge summaries.
• Perform ward procedures and stay on-call during night shifts.
• Participate in quality improvement projects.
• Take part in patient care conferences, mortality and morbidity rounds, and multidisciplinary rounds.

As a Resident Physician at Ang Mo Kio - Thye Hua Kwan Hospital (AMK-THKH), you will be a part of a dedicated team of Medical Doctors, Nurses, Therapists, and Medical Social Workers, and work under the supervision of senior doctors to provide first-line clinical coverage to patients admitted to our community hospital for rehabilitation or subacute care.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting ward rounds and handling acute medical issues
• Clerking new patients and preparing discharge summaries
• Performing ward procedures and staying on-call during night shifts
• Involving in Quality improvement projects
• Participate in patient care conferences, unplanned discharge rounds, mortality and morbidity rounds, and multidisciplinary rounds

Requirements:

• A medical degree recognised bySingapore Medical Council (SMC)

• Full registration with SMC, or be eligible for conditional registration. You can check Conditional Registration eligibility criteria online.
• Possess at least 3 years of post-housemanship working experience as a Medical Officer (or equivalent)
• Experience in family medicine, geriatric medicine, or rehabilitation medicine preferred but not a prerequisite, or have a keen interest in these disciplines
• Possess post-graduate diploma or degree would be an advantage
• Currently be in active clinical practice
• Team player with a passion for caring for the elderly, good bedside manner and patience
• Positive mindset, collaborative and willing to go the extra mile
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
