Job summary

Intact Lab in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Senior React Front-end Developer to join the AI Engineering team. You will contribute to building cutting-edge AI-powered web interfaces for our insurance and data science initiatives.

You’ll collaborate with actuaries, data scientists and engineers, shaping frontend architecture, performance, and accessibility while growing your leadership skills within a dynamic lab environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS3, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Proficiency with React front-end frameworks; knowledge of Angular/Vue.js is a plus.
• Experience with client-side state management and data fetching libraries.
• Experience collaborating with designers via Figma.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices such as design patterns, lifecycle, and tools like Git, Jira, Confluence.
• Experience with Design Systems.
• Experience with automated testing from unit to end-to-end.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development.
• Understanding of web performance optimization techniques, accessibility and layout aesthetics.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Break down business requirements into technical sub-tasks with clear acceptance criteria and effort estimates.
• Lead and coach junior team members in development activities.
• Work independently on technical implementation tasks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to discuss needs, design and functionality of a website or interface.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers and backend engineers.
• Create prototypes and mock-ups of websites or applications.
• Work with graphics to determine the website layout.
• Demonstrate a strong analytical mindset and passion for delivering the best user experience.

In this role, you will have to opportunity to:

• Ability to break down business requirements into technical sub-tasks with clear technical acceptance criteria and effort estimation

Here’s what you bring to the table:

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS3, JavaScript and Typescript
• Proficiency with React front-end frameworks, (a plus for Angular, & Vue.js)

Some nice-to-haves:

• A plus on having experience with hosting web server on AWS (e.g. knowledge on AWS EC2, ECS, ECR, ALB, Docker)
• A plus on understanding and experience with API design, implementation, and lifecycle, as well as OpenAPI/Swagger specification.
