Job summary

Leadingnation in Hong Kong is seeking a meticulous Quality Control Inspector for the HK Office. You will be the main quality contact for finished jewelry, ensuring adherence to specifications and customer expectations.

Responsibilities include inspections of gold and silver jewelry, sample testing, documentation, and coordination with labs. Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Chinese is required, with strong attention to detail and proficiency with inspection tools.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (spoken and written) and Cantonese/Chinese.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Expert use of jewelry inspection tools (tweezers, calipers, microscopes, diamond detectors, XRF/CVD scanners).
• Knowledge of AQL sampling standards and gold weighting tolerance.
• Experience in diamond and gems grading and certificate verification.
• Good vision, steady hands and attention to detail; organized documentation.

Responsibilities

• Finished product quality inspection; main quality contact in HK Office.
• Inspect main products: Gold Jewelry (with/without diamonds) and bespoke orders.
• Perform quantity checks and packing inspections for jewelry.
• Occasionally inspect marketing samples (pens) and other jewelry.
• Laboratory testing: perform in-house corrosion tests; coordinate third-party tests.
• Rejection management: identify failure modes and prepare reports.
• Assist in shipping/packaging, verify product numbers, renew packaging, and place courier orders; other tasks including Diamond & Gems grading as needed.

Quality Control Inspector

Department: Quality

Reporting to: Head of Quality and Compliance

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Finished product quality inspection - main quality contact in HK Office.
• Main products: Gold Jewelry with or without diamonds and stones, and Silver Jewelry –bespoke orders
• Quantity Check and Packing inspection for Jewelry products
• On single occasions, inspections on Marketing samples (pens) and other types of jewelries.
• Laboratory Test: Perform In-house corrosion test (ASST) test, and for the test outsourced, handle samples to 3rd Party Laboratory Test, receive and check the samples tested from 3rd Party Labs.
• Rejection Management: receiving rejected products from the market, definition of the failure mode (type of defect) and report preparation.
• Other: Assistant in Shipping and Packaging, product number verification and renew packaging, and courier order placing (Type of metal, Item Description, etc.)
• Other tasks assigned based on needs i.e. Diamond & Gems grading.

Job Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook e-mail).
• Expert use of the inspection tools for Jewelry (e.g., tweezers, calipers, microscopes, diamond detectors, XRF/CVD scanners).
• Knowledge of the AQL sampling standards, gold weighting tolerance, certificate verification (e.g., IGI), and customer complaint processes.
• Experience in diamond & gems grading, and the certificates' verification.
• Good vision (no color blindness or color weakness), Good hand dexterity and stability.
• Detail-oriented and able to organize documentation, product-photos taking and reporting.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written), Cantonese and Chinese.
