ROLE SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of data center development and infrastructure projects in Hong Kong.
The role will involve planning, design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, through to operational handover. You will ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish project objectives, execution plans, and performance standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage project change orders, ensuring timely evaluation, approval, and implementation.
- Maintain project documentation, schedules, logs, and progress reports throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor construction progress to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Identify project risks and issues, implement corrective actions, and elevate critical matters where necessary.
- Represent the company in project meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project, including short-term look-ahead plans and regular progress updates.
- Manage project financials, including budgets, progress claims, contract variations, cost control, and project expenditures while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Develop project execution plans, schedules, resource allocation, and budgets to meet business and project objectives.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate the procurement, delivery, and installation of equipment and services, ensuring project milestones are achieved.
- Monitor project progress, maintain project documentation, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders and management.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for project issues, implementing timely corrective actions to minimise project and operational risks.
- Manage stakeholder communications, vendor performance, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business and project requirements.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data center project management, engineering consultancy, construction, or mission-critical facilities.
- Proven experience delivering Greenfield, Brownfield, and live data center projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including MEP systems, construction methodologies, testing & commissioning, and operational handover.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, risks, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project or equivalent project scheduling software.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an advantage.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Cantonese is an advantage.
