Job summary

Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) invites a proactive events professional to support planning and execution of local and overseas trade promotional events, including the Asian Financial Forum. You will recruit participants, liaise with vendors, and help with marketing collaterals and on-site coordination.

The role requires a university degree, strong English and Chinese, and Putonghua fluency, with experience in event management considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 1+ year of related experience in sales/marketing/project management/event organising.
• Customer-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, self-initiated, mature and creative with team spirit.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is a statutory body established in 1966 to promote, assist and develop Hong Kong's trade. With 51 offices globally, including 13 in the Chinese Mainland, the HKTDC promotes Hong Kong as a two-way global investment and business hub.

The HKTDC organises international exhibitions, conferences and business missions to create business opportunities for companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the mainland and international markets. The HKTDC also provides up-to-date market insights and product information via research reports and digital news channels.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers in the overall planning and execution of local and overseas trade promotional events related to financial services sectors
• Recruit participants for trade promotional projects, including the Asian Financial Forum
• Assist in liaison with vendors, onsite logistics preparation such as coordination and venue setup etc.
• Assist in preparing marketing collaterals and publicity materials including coordination with clients and branch offices etc.
• Handle enquiries from partners and event participants, undertake on-site duties
• Liaise and maintain good relations with working partners and industry associations
• Any other ad hoc tasks/ duties assigned by the Team's Section Head

Requirements

• University graduate with at least 1-year related experience, preferably in sales and marketing, project management and event organising, etc.
• Customer-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with people from all levels
• Proactive, self-initiated, mature, creative, with team work spirits
• Meticulous and detail-minded and very attentive to details
• Willingness to work long hours to meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in MS applications and Chinese word-processing
• Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Fluent in Putonghua
• Solid prior experience in event management will be an advantage

Remuneration and Benefits

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive remuneration and benefits package, including annual leave, medical and dental benefits, will be offered.
