Job summary

Rickson Engineering Limited, a Hong Kong electrical engineering company, seeks a Project Engineer to oversee electrical projects from design and technical submissions through factory production, site installation, testing and commissioning. You will lead and supervise Assistant Engineers and liaise with clients and contractors on technical matters.

The role requires a Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or Building Services), and REW Grade C registration.

Qualifications

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
• REW Grade C registration is mandatory
• Relevant experience in electrical engineering or building services
• Good knowledge of LV electrical distribution systems and electrical installations
• Experience in LV switchboard design, manufacturing or related electrical distribution systems is an advantage
• Willing to work outside normal working hours, including occasional overnight work
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and supervise Assistant Engineers

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Assistant Engineers in the execution of electrical projects
• Liaise with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and other relevant parties on technical and project matters
• Review project specifications and requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions and designs
• Prepare and review drawings, material submissions and other technical documentation for client/consultant approval
• Coordinate with the factory to ensure LV switchboards and associated equipment are manufactured in accordance with approved drawings
• Provide technical support and resolve engineering issues arising during production
• Coordinate site installation, testing and commissioning upon completion of production
• Carry out site inspections and resolve technical and installation issues
• Ensure electrical works comply with statutory requirements, relevant codes of practice and project specifications
• Monitor project progress and ensure projects are completed in accordance with the agreed programme and quality requirements

Job description

About you

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related disciplines
• Registered Electrical Worker (REW) Grade C is mandatory
• Relevant experience in electrical engineering or building services
• Good knowledge of LV electrical distribution systems and electrical installations
• Experience in LV switchboard design, manufacturing or related electrical distribution systems is an advantage
• Willing to work outside normal working hours, including occasional overnight work, when required by project or site conditions
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and supervise Assistant Engineers
