Job summary

Leighton Asia in Hong Kong seeks a capable Electrical Works Coordinator to support planning, coordination and safe execution of electrical isolations, switching and outages in line with engineering standards. You will manage permits, safety docs and work with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering teams and contractors.

The role requires a higher diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services, 5+ years of relevant experience, and knowledge of HV/LV systems and permit-to-work

Qualifications

  • Higher Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification work experience in electrical operations, maintenance, or permit-to-work coordination.
  • REW C0 and H0 would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, isolations, switching operations and permit-to-work processes.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Strong planning, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day administration of the ESSW process, conduct routine compliance checks and elevate discrepancies where required.
  • Process and track electrical work permits, isolation requests, switching schedules and related safety documentation.
  • Act as the central point of contact between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering teams and Contractors for planned electrical works.
  • Review electrical isolation plans, switching schedules and permit requirements for maintenance and project activities.
  • Provide engineering support for planned outages, shutdowns, energisation and return-to-service activities.
  • Liaise with Operations, Maintenance, Project Teams and Contractors to ensure safe and effective delivery of electrical works.
  • Verify compliance with electrical safety procedures, isolation requirements and safe working practices.
  • Verify compliance for a Work Completion Certificate (Form WR1 or WR1(A)) under Hong Kong's Electricity Ordinance, ensure the installation is inspected, tested, and certified by a registered worker before being energized.
  • Review technical documentation, electrical drawings and work packs to support work planning and execution.
  • Support site inspections, audits, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare engineering reports, outage plans, work schedules and technical documentation.
  • Assist in contractor management and coordination of electrical works across multiple stakeholders.
  • Assist with audits, inspections and document reviews relating to electrical safety systems and processes.
