About the Role
KFund is KPay's merchant financing business. We are looking for a Product Manager to manage and improve merchant financing products and our loan marketplace, helping businesses access financing that meets their needs.
Your remit covers two areas: merchant financing products and the loan marketplace. You will turn merchant needs and commercial opportunities into clear product requirements, drive cross-functional delivery, and improve the experience from financing discovery and application through funding, repayment and servicing.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can connect commercial judgement, credit-product knowledge, detailed requirements and delivery execution.
What You Will Do
Product Strategy and Discovery
- Understand merchant segments, cash-flow needs and existing financing alternatives through customer interviews, market research, product data and lender feedback.
- Define product propositions, pricing hypotheses and business cases with clear assumptions, customer value, unit economics and measures of success.
- Develop product priorities across merchant financing products and the loan marketplace, balancing customer value, commercial impact, risk and delivery effort.
- Identify opportunities to improve financing solutions through customer research, market insight and performance analysis.
Merchant Financing Products
- Own business requirements across eligibility, underwriting and offer generation, application, verification, contracting, disbursement, repayment, monitoring and servicing.
- Produce clear product requirements covering business rules, user journeys, data needs, operational processes, exceptions and acceptance criteria.
- Work with Compliance, Legal, Finance, Data and Operations to translate their requirements into a coherent product and operating model, with clear ownership and unresolved decisions.
- Improve merchant-facing experiences and internal workflows, working with relevant teams to ensure reliable payment, repayment, reconciliation and servicing processes.
Loan Marketplace
- Own the product experience for discovering and comparing financing options, applying, receiving status updates and accessing ongoing support.
- Define business requirements for onboarding partner lenders and integrating their eligibility, offers, application journeys and servicing touchpoints.
- Work with partnership and commercial teams to evaluate lender propositions, merchant fit, commercial economics and operating responsibilities.
- Improve Marketplace conversion, offer relevance and customer experience using funnel analysis, merchant feedback and partner performance.
Delivery and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams to turn business requirements into practical solutions, assess delivery options and agree MVP and phased-delivery scope.
- Drive business clarification, dependency resolution and requirement change control throughout delivery; keep stakeholders informed of trade-offs and decisions.
- Define business acceptance criteria, coordinate user acceptance testing and support launch readiness with operations, customer support, marketing and local-market teams.
- Monitor product adoption, conversion, funding, repayment and portfolio performance with Data and functional owners; turn findings into prioritised improvements.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 5 years of product management experience, with meaningful experience in SME lending, merchant financing, embedded finance or closely related financial products.
- A track record of taking products from discovery through requirements, delivery, launch and iteration in a cross-functional environment.
- Working knowledge of credit assessment, lending economics and the financing lifecycle, including repayment, delinquency, servicing and operational controls.
- Ability to write precise, usable requirements and explain complex rules and flows clearly to business, product and engineering teams.
- Strong analytical skills: comfortable with funnels, cohorts, pricing, unit economics and financial models, and able to distinguish supported conclusions from assumptions.
- Sufficient technical fluency to discuss APIs, data flows, system states, integrations and reconciliation with engineering teams.
- Sound judgement in balancing customer experience, commercial goals, risk, compliance and delivery constraints.
- Strong ownership and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to move work forward when inputs are incomplete.
- Professional proficiency in English and Chinese, with the ability to collaborate across regional markets (SG & HK) and produce clear written requirements.
Useful Additional Experience
- Payment platforms, merchant acquiring, POS, business banking or SaaS ecosystems.
- Digital lending, loan marketplaces and third-party lender integrations.
- Hong Kong or Australian SME financing markets.
- SQL, product analytics or financial modelling.
What Success Looks Like
- Merchants can understand, access and manage financing through a clear and reliable experience.
- Product requirements enable design and engineering teams to assess scope, plan delivery and resolve implementation questions.
- Financing products and marketplace offerings have clear customer propositions, operating responsibilities and measurable commercial outcomes.
- Releases meet agreed business acceptance criteria, and post-launch learning translates into improvements in conversion, customer value, portfolio performance and operational efficiency.
