Job summary

Jaz Toys HK Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a product designer to lead design and development for toy projects handed over from various teams. You will collaborate with Design, Engineering and PM to meet quality standards and schedules.

Requirements include a higher diploma or degree in Industrial/Product Design, 3-5 years in toy product design, strong sketching, rendering and 3D skills (KeyShot), and bilingual English/Chinese communication.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma or Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of solid experience in product design within the toy industry.
• Good sketching, rendering and aesthetic visualization skills.
• Hands-on experience with 3D software such as KeyShot.
• English and Chinese proficiency, both written and spoken.
• Experience in creating technical exploded-view drawings.
• Knowledge of plastic engineering and manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Knowledge of soft goods engineering and materials is preferred.

The primary responsibility of this role is product design and development for projects being turned over from various design teams.

This role reports to the Senior Designer, and you will work closely with your counterparts in Design, Engineering, and Project Managements to ensure project are completed to the set quality standards within schedule.

Basic Function:

• Concept design, sketching, and rendering development
• Aesthetic control drawings and specifications
• Monitoring sculpture and 3D model making
• Defining color, finish, and decoration (deco) specifications
• Following up through all stages of production

Monitor design progress to ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project schedules

Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative concepts for new product lines

Support the US team during on-site visits and collaborative projects

Brainstorm ideas for new product concept

Willingness to travel to Mainland China

Requirements:

• Higher Diploma or Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related discipline
• 3-5 years of solid experience in product design within the toy industry
• Good sketching skills, rendering, and aesthetic visualization skills
• Hands-on experience with 3D software such as KeyShot.
• Good team player, able to work independently, and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibilities
• Good command of written and spoken Englishand Chinese
• Experience in creating technical exploded-view drawings
• Knowledge of plastic engineering and manufacturing processes is preferred
• Knowledge of soft goods engineering and materials is preferred
