Job summary

Star-Industrial-Co-Ltd in Hong Kong seeks a hands-on Product/Industrial Designer to lead R&D for plastic products across household and industrial storage categories. You will collaborate with engineering, production, and marketing to ensure DF Manufacturing and cost-efficient designs, and support ad-hoc design tasks.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of product/industrial design experience, proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, knowledge of 3D printing, materials, and plastics injection

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in product or industrial design.
• Education background in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing and understanding of materials and manufacturing processes (injection molding preferred).
• Creative mindset and strong team-player attitude to collaborate effectively.
• Submit a Personal Design Portfolio along with resume for review.

Responsibilities

• House-Brand Product Design: Lead the R&D of plastic products for our proprietary brands, covering household supplies, industrial/commercial storage containers, and more.

• Market Research & Trend Analysis: Conduct regular market studies to analyze consumer needs and material trends to discover new product opportunities.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, production, and marketing teams to ensure designs align with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and cost-efficiency.

• Ad-hoc Project Support: Complete sudden or temporary design-related tasks assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in product or industrial design.

• Education Background: Associate Degree, Higher Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or above in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related discipline.

• Professional Skills: Proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with precise technical drawing capabilities.

• Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with 3D printing technology and a deep understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes (experience in plastic injection molding is preferred).

• Work Attitude: Possess a creative mindset paired with a strong team-player spirit to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
