Job summary

Production Partners is seeking a Senior Industrial Designer to lead the design of products for international brands at our Shenzhen studio. This role blends creative exploration with manufacturing reality, requiring strong 3D modelling, client presentations, and collaboration with engineers and suppliers to take concepts through prototyping to mass production.

• 6+ years of professional industrial/product design experience.
• Strong portfolio showing concepts to production-ready products.
• Experience working directly with Western clients/brands.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• High-level SolidWorks skills and strong KeyShot visuals capability.
• Strong conceptual design, sketching and problem-solving ability.
• Experience utilizing AI for rapid idea generation/exploration and high-end visuals.
• Solid understanding of materials, finishes, manufacturing processes and DFM.
• Experience taking products through prototyping, engineering and mass production.

This is not a CAD production role. We are looking for a well-rounded designer who can think, sketch, develop concepts, present to clients, build strong 3D models and take products all the way through engineering and manufacturing.

You will work directly with Western clients, project managers, engineers and manufacturers — translating ideas into well-designed, commercially viable products that are ready for production.

01THE ROLE

International Product Design and Development — Futian, Shenzhen

You will work directly with Western clients, project managers, engineers and manufacturers — translating ideas into well-designed, commercially viable products that are ready for production.

• Lead industrial design projects from the initial brief and concept development through refinement, CAD, prototyping and production.
• Develop thoughtful, commercially relevant concepts across a diverse range of physical products.
• Present concepts and design decisions directly to international clients and confidently respond to feedback.
• Create high-quality SolidWorks models, KeyShot visualisations and clear design presentations.
• Work closely with engineering, project management, sourcing and manufacturing teams to protect design intent through to production.
• Contribute to materials, finishes, CMF, ergonomics, usability and design-for-manufacture decisions.
• Contribute to the overall design quality of the Production Partners team.

02WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 6+ years of professional industrial / product design experience.
• A strong portfolio showing concept development through to real or production-ready products.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with US, UK, European, Australian or other Western clients / brands.
• Excellent spoken and written English, with the confidence to present and discuss design decisions with clients.
• High-level SolidWorks skills and strong KeyShot / product visualisation capability.
• Strong conceptual design, sketching and problem-solving ability.
• Experience utilizing Ai for rapid idea generation/exploration and for the creation of high-end visuals.
• A solid understanding of materials, finishes, manufacturing processes and DFM.
• Experience taking products through prototyping, engineering and mass production.
• Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to take ownership of projects from brief to delivery.
