Michael Page's client, a global leader in green energy, seeks a Senior/Principal Software Engineer (Automated Testing) in Hong Kong to develop testing tools for a firmware platform. You will design test plans, automate with Java, JavaScript and Python, and work with the firmware team to meet specific requirements.

Lead engineers may supervise a small team; TD development, Spring, CI/CD, and Windows/Linux experience are required.

Description

Job Responsibilities

• The selected candidate will be responsible for developing software testing tools on a complicated firmware testing platform;
• This role requires the candidate to create test plans and test cases, design testing procedures, and use Scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, Python or C#) to automate testing and generate validation reports.
• The candidate will work closely with the firmware team to understand specific requirements and build testing platforms that meet specialized needs.
• For Lead Engineer-level candidates, the role also involves leading a small team in implementing new features and resolving software bugs, backlogs, and system issues to ensure the reliability, stability, and performance of the testing platform and related systems.

Profile

Must-Have Requirements

• Higher Diploma/ Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 5-7 years of experience in a Software Development role, with hands-on experience in test automation (mandatory);
• Proven programming experience in Java, JavaScript and/ or Python;
• Strong understanding of software Test-Driven Development;
• Experience developing applications using Spring Framework libraries and working with CI/CD pipelines and frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with source code control and configuration management tools (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance productivity and software quality.
• Experience working with integration testing frameworks.
• Experience with task automation tools and scripting, such as PowerShell.
