Job summary

South Island School in Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant to join the Physical Education Department. You will manage logistics for off-site fixtures and extracurricular sports, coordinate transport, venues, and parent communications, and assist in lessons.

You will maintain PE equipment inventory, support policies, handle student tracking, publish activity results, and coordinate with partners for sports trips, sometimes on weekends.

Qualifications

• Higher diploma or degree in PE or recreational management.
• Coaching qualifications in areas of sports and physical activity are preferred.
• Experience supervising children and providing sporting activities is desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Apps is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage logistics of off-site sports fixtures and extracurricular programmes (communication with parents and students, transport, venue booking).
• Ensure PE facilities and equipment are organized and ready for lessons; assist PE staff in lessons.
• Maintain PE inventory and ensure equipment meets health and safety requirements.
• Assist PE department with policies (Finance, HR, Procurement) and provide admin support (student tracking, attendance).
• Publish sports results and updates in newsletters, Year Book and website; coordinate league registrations (HKSSF, ISSFHK).
• Organise inter-house programmes (Athletics Day, Cross Country, Swimming Gala) and logistics with equipment; lead students to inter-school leagues (weekends as needed).
• Supervise sports venues/events; coordinate with overseas partners for sports trips; perform other duties as assigned.
