Job summary

South Island School, part of The English Schools Foundation (ESF), is seeking a Part-time Educational Assistant in the Chinese Department. The role supports students learning Chinese and assists teachers to maximize curriculum access.

Ideal candidates will have Putonghua near-native proficiency, fluent English, excellent communication, teamwork, and ICT skills. Immediate availability preferred; Hong Kong resident or valid visa required.

Part-time Educational Assistant – Chinese

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part- Time Educational Assistant to work at South Island School with our Chinese Department. South Island School wish to recruit a Chinese Part- Time EA to work with students and support & work alongside teachers in the mainstream classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Chinese learning in school
• Support students to maximize their achievements within the curriculum
• Support teachers with the aim of increasing students access to and attainment within the school curriculum
• Perform any other duties as and when assigned by Line Managers

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Putonghua and fluent English are essential, and being able to speak Cantonese is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Strong ICT skills, with a particular emphasis on online teaching tools and platforms.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Candidates who are immediately available will be given preference.

Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
