South Island School, part of English Schools Foundation (ESF) in Hong Kong, seeks a Part-Time Educational Assistant for the Chinese Department. You will assist students in learning Putonghua and support classroom teachers to improve student access to the curriculum.

Native Putonghua with fluency in English is required; Cantonese is an advantage. Strong communication and ICT skills are essential, and prior experience with children is desirable. Immediate availability is preferred.

Part- Time Educational Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part- Time Educational Assistant to work at South Island School with our Chinese Department. South Island School wish to recruit a Chinese Part- Time EA to work with students and support & work alongside teachers in the mainstream classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Chinese learning in school
• Support students to maximize their achievements within the curriculum
• Support teachers with the aim of increasing students access to and attainment within the school curriculum
• Perform any other duties as and when assigned by Line Managers

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Putonghua and fluent English are essential, and being able to speak Cantonese is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Strong ICT skills, with a particular emphasis on online teaching tools and platforms.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Candidates who are immediately available will be given preference.
• Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
