Job summary

ESF Explore in Hong Kong is seeking enthusiastic, experienced and qualified part-time, hourly classroom assistants to support all class activities for the effective delivery of the ESL language programme.

These roles involve supervising pupils, assisting teachers, preparing and tidying classrooms, and maintaining clear communication with teachers and parents. Applicants must have at least one year of experience with children and be fluent in English and Cantonese, with Saturday availability.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year's experience working with children.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Cantonese.
• Applicants should be available on Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning.
• Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
• Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
• Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate.
• Attend to the pupils’ personal needs including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters.
• Assist in the preparation of the classroom as directed for lessons and clear afterwards.
• Be aware of pupil problems/progress/achievements and report to the teacher as agreed.
• Support the teacher in managing pupil behaviour.
• Be actively involved in all activities (such as singing and circle time).
