Job description

Join a leading international bank in Hong Kong an Operation Support Manager, overseeing sanctions screening, operations governance and support for multiple banking products. You will work closely with the Head of OSC to strengthen regulatory compliance, manage key support functions and coordinate projects across the operations platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head of OSC in assessing operations’ compliance with key regulatory rules and ordinances (e.g. DPS‑IS Guidelines, DPS Representation Rules, Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Code of Banking Practice).
• Oversee transaction sanctions screening in the operations department, including list management, system maintenance and supervision of hit handling and escalation processes.
• Manage operations‑related support activities such as issuing audit confirmations, certificates of balance, bank reference letters and responding to law‑enforcement enquiries and account administration requests.
• Supervise general administration tasks for operations (e.g. tariff and fee reviews, consolidating industry survey responses, coordinating branch BCP arrangements, logistics for trainings, visitors and business trips).
• Provide processing/back‑up support to other operations units when required to maintain service levels and control standards.
• Act as project coordinator for operations‑related initiatives from planning through implementation or product launch, and monitor regulatory changes and alerts to assess their impact on transaction processing.

Requirements

• Strong academic background with a degree or relevant professional qualification.
• Over 8 years of hands‑on banking operations experience, preferably with exposure to multiple product and operations areas.
• Good knowledge of transaction products, their features, risks, end‑to‑end operations flows and relevant international rules and market practices.
• Ability to interpret regulatory rules and guidelines, assess their applicability to bank operations and translate them into practical procedures and controls.
• Sound judgement in reviewing potential sanctions hits and determining when to clear, query or escape suspicious cases to appropriate stakeholders.
• Strong written and spoken English, with clear communication skills when dealing with operations teams, compliance, regulators and external counterparties.
