Qualifications

• CCNA/CCNP/HCIA/HCIP or other relevant certification will be advantageous.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and wireless communication systems.
• 1-5 years’ experience with WAN/LAN technologies (IP-MPLS, OSPF, ERP, etc.).
• Experience with Cisco/Alcatel-Lucent/Extreme/Huawei devices or similar routers/switches.

Responsibilities

• Design, select, implement and commission data communication systems for Rail & Metro projects.
• Implement cybersecurity measures to safeguard wireless and radio networks.
• Conduct PoC, factory acceptance tests and interface system integration tests.
• Perform system acceptance tests with customers after implementation.
• Provide high system availability, access controls, and network infrastructure documentation.
• Proactively monitor critical systems and troubleshoot faults using automated tools.
• Configure and install transport network equipment (Huawei, Nokia) and LAN gear (Cisco, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent).
• Participate in project meetings and manage vendor/supplier communications and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement and oversee project resources and subcontractor activities.

Job description

Job Brief:

The incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting data communication systems for Rail & Metro transportation projects.

Key Job Accountabilities

• To design, select, implement, test and commissioning the data communication system for Rail & Metro Transportation in local and overseas projects

• Implement cybersecurity measures to safeguard radio communication systems against potential threats and vulnerabilities.

• To conduct Proof of concept, factory acceptance test as well as interface system integration test prior the actual design/ onsite implementation.

• To conduct system acceptance test with the customer after implementation prior handling over to the customer.

• To provide high level of system availability, access controls of network resources, technical write-up and updating of the network infrastructure for the project being implemented.

• To pro-actively monitor critical system and troubleshoot if there are faults detected from the system through the use of automated tools.

• To configure and install transport network equipment (Example: Huawei, Nokia) and Local Area network equipment (Example: Cisco, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent) based on the project requirements.

• Participate in project meetings, handling administrative responsibilities and supporting overall project execution.

• To liaise with vendors and suppliers for job to be accomplished as well as time schedule of delivery to meet the project timeline.

• Manage stakeholder engagement, maintaining clear communication with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and overseeing project resources and managing subcontractor activities.
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• CCNA/CCNP/HCIA/HCIP or other relevant certification will be advantageous

• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and wirelesscommunication systems.

• 1-5 years’ experience working with Wide Area Network (WAN/ Local Area Network (LAN) technologies such as IP-MPLS, OSPF, ERP etc.

• Experience in Cisco/ Alcatel-Lucent/ Extreme/Huawei network devices or other devices such as routers, switches, etc.

• Experience in Network design/ planning/ implementation/troubleshooting will be an advantage

• Willingness to travel for overseas assignments and adaptable to working hours aligned with railway engineering schedules.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Well organized, proactive and self-directed, able to perform with minimal supervision and also a team player.
