H.K.S.K.H. Lady MacLehose Centre seeks a Multicultural Teaching Assistant to support non-Chinese-speaking students in developing listening, speaking, reading and writing in Chinese.
The role focuses on fostering positive study habits and engaging activities that spark interest in Chinese learning. You will work to tailor instruction for diverse learners, collaborate with teachers and communicate with parents to strengthen school-home partnerships while promoting an inclusive school culture.
Multicultural Teaching Assistant (Post code: EM-MTA_ST)
Responsibilities:
Develop non-Chinese-speaking students’ abilities in using the four Chinese language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Help non-Chinese-speaking students build up good learning habits and attitudes, and enhance their interest in learning Chinese.
Cater to the learning diversity of non-Chinese speaking students through different school-based curriculum and teaching strategies
Promote students’ interest in learning Chinese through a variety of activities.
Support balanced development for non-Chinese speaking students in personal growth, social development, and academic progress.
Strengthen communication between the school and parents/ guardians of non-Chinese-speaking students to foster school-home collaboration.
Assist in promoting and organizing diverse inclusion activities to strengthen an inclusive school culture.
Provide support to teachers and help them acquire skills for supporting non-Chinese-speaking students and their parents/ guardians.
Requirements:
Secondary graduates (HKCEE/HKDSE) or above
Working experience in NGO and able to work immediately are preferable
Fluent in English, with native proficiency in Urdu, Nepali or Hindi
Passionate in serving non-Chinese communities
Good interpersonal skills, independent, self motivated, open-minded and responsible
