Job summary

Hong Kong Christian Service invites applications for Multicultural Service Assistant (C-for-Chinese-JC). You will support social workers and teachers, assist in group work and mass programs, and help run activities for clients and families in a diverse community.

The role requires completed secondary education in HK, familiarity with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and fluent English plus one of Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, Thai, Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali or Vietnamese.

Qualifications

Completed secondary education in Hong Kong, HKDSE or equivalent.
Relevant experience in social services is preferred.
Fluent in English.
Fluent in at least one of Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, Thai, Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali or Vietnamese.
Computer literate with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Employee should not have been convicted of sexual offences as per scheme.

Responsibilities

To answer telephone calls, take messages or following‑up if necessary.
To station at another agency, school or service unit from time to time as and when required.
To assist social worker and kindergarten teacher to carry out direct service including group work service, mass programs and out-door activities.
To assist in preparation and implementation of group work service, programs and activities.
To assist in communication and engagement work with clients and families.
