Job summary

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a Material Control Supervisor / Assistant Material Control Supervisor to manage site storage, inventory control and procurement for construction projects on site. The role can be filled at two levels, with candidates considered for Assistant Material Control Supervisor based on experience.

• Driving licence (Class 1 or 2) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a site storage system and monitor construction material inventory.
• Organise in-stock and out-stock of inventory items and maintain accurate records.
• Purchase miscellaneous materials and goods for construction works and maintain related records.
• Provide clerical support including supplier payments.
• Coordinate with the project team and subcontractors to ensure adequate resource allocation for operational needs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the team.

This role manages site storage, inventory control, and material procurement for construction projects. The position is open at two levels, with candidates considered for Assistant Material Control Supervisor based on experience.

The company holds Group C approved contractor status across five public works categories, including Buildings, Port Works, Roads and Drainage, Site Formation, and Waterworks.

What you'll be doing?

• Storage system management: Establish and maintain a site storage system and monitor construction material inventory.
• Inventory control: Organise in-stock and out-stock of inventory items and maintain accurate records.
• Material procurement: Purchase miscellaneous materials and goods for construction works and maintain related records.
• Clerical support: Provide clerical support including ascertaining supplier payments.
• Resource coordination: Coordinate with the project team and subcontractors to ensure adequate resource allocation for operational needs.
• Ad hoc duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the team.

Who are they looking for?

• Academic qualification: Higher Diploma or above in Building Studies, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Purchasing and Supply, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in storekeeping or warehouse management in the construction industry is required for Material Control Supervisor candidates.
• Industry knowledge: Familiarity with construction materials is required.
• Computer skills: Proficiency in MS Office and Chinese word processing is required.
• Driving licence: Holder of a driving licence with Class 1 and 2 is an advantage.
• Less experienced candidates: Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Assistant Material Control Supervisor position.
