Job summary

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a procurement professional to lead centralized procurement of bulk construction materials and equipment in Hong Kong. The role includes contract management, supplier relationship expansion, and timely market analysis to maximize cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in a related field with at least 5 years’ experience in construction procurement or cost management, and is fluent in Chinese and English.

Qualifications

• Degree or above in Engineering, Cost Management, Materials, or Supply Chain-related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction material procurement or cost management, with main contractors experience.
• Strong command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ERP or digital procurement systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Implement centralized procurement for bulk construction materials or equipment; reduce costs.
• Handle contract management and resolve contractual disputes.
• Manage suppliers and expand supplier resources.
• Conduct market price trend analysis to ensure cost efficiency.

Job description

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”.

Responsibilities

• Implement centralized procurement, responsible for bulk construction materials or equipment procurement, adopting effective strategies to reduce procurement costs
• Handle contract management, including proper resolution of contractual disputes
• Manage suppliers and expand supplier resources
• Conduct regular market price trend analysis and procure in a timely manner to ensure maximum cost efficiency
  
  

Requirements

• Degree or above in Engineering, Cost Management, Materials, or Supply Chain–related disciplines
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction material procurement or cost management, with relevant experience in main contractors; familiar with supply chain management and bulk construction materials management
• Strong command of both written and spoken Chinese and English
• Good leadership skills and professional integrity; detail\u001eminded and highly efficient
• Proficient in mainstream office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of ERP or digital procurement systems is an advantage
• Experience in Mainland China/overseas procurement is preferred
• Candidates with less experience may be considered as Purchasing Officer
