Job summary

Recruit is seeking a Marketing/Events Assistant in Hong Kong to help plan and execute conferences and related events. You will assist with schedules, registrations, guest lists and on-site logistics, and support delegate and VIP engagement as well as media relations.

The role requires a university degree in marketing or related field and 1–2 years’ relevant experience, with English, Chinese and Mandarin proficiency. Cantonese preferred; HK travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in marketing, event management, public relations, media, communications or customer servicing preferred.
• Bachelor degree in marketing, journalism communications or related disciplines.
• Fluent in English, Chinese and Mandarin; Cantonese proficiency preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Canva or basic design tools is an advantage.
• Team player, proactive with a pleasant personality.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and under pressure; willing to travel overseas occasionally.

• Perform other ad hoc duties to support the department’s events and partnerships.

Job description

Responsibilities:-

• To assist in planning and implementing marketing and promotional campaigns for conferences and related events.
• To support event organization and project coordination, including preparation of work schedules, run-downs, guest lists, registration arrangements, venue logistics and on-site execution.
• To assist in delegate, audience and VIP engagement, including invitation follow-up, RSVP tracking, registration communication and attendee database maintenance. To maintain good relations with working partners and industry associations.
• To coordinate with sponsors, strategic partners, speakers, moderators, vendors and internal stakeholders on event deliverables, promotional arrangements and logistical requirements.
• To support media relations and publicity work, including media invitations, media registration, press material preparation, media liaison and coverage monitoring.
• To prepare administrative and project documents, including meeting notes, contact lists, quotations, purchase requests, budget tracking and post-event evaluation materials.
• To perform other ad hoc duties assigned by the supervisor in support of the department’s events, marketing and partnership initiatives.

Requirements:-

• A university degree in marketing, journalism communications or related disciplines.
• Around 1–2 years’ relevant experience in marketing, event management, public relations, media, communications or customer servicing is preferred.
• Strong command of written and spoken English, Chinese and fluent in Mandarin; proficiency in Cantonese is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with social media platforms, Canva or basic design tools is an advantage.
• A good team player, proactive and with pleasant personality.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and under pressure.
• Willing to work overtime and travel overseas occasionally.
