Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance seeks an experienced Architect to lead the technology strategy and architecture roadmap for APAC markets, including Singapore and Hong Kong. You will drive modernization, vendor collaboration, and governance to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

You will partner with IT, Compliance, Legal, Risk and business leaders, ensuring alignment with enterprise frameworks and driving reuse and standardization across platforms.

Qualifications

• 12-15+ years in engineering/architecture with at least 10 years in applications development in a complex, multi‑platform environment.
• Strong programming experience in backend/frontend languages: Java 8+, Spring Boot 3.x, Angular/React.
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms and Docker/containerization.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging systems.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with testing strategies and observability tools.
• Knowledge of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements (payment controls).
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
• Ability to learn quickly and influence across the organization.
• Strong communication and agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture discussions balancing modernization, new capabilities and platform improvements.
• Document current/target-state architecture and seek feedback in design forums.
• Align market architectures to APAC standards and governance processes.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders and help prioritize architecture backlogs.
• Collaborate with regional architects on Target state architectures and standards.
• Promote modern patterns: event-driven, observability, zero trust, data privacy.
• Prototype cross-platform solutions and review major design proposals.
• Drive security-first mindset with enterprise tools and patterns.
• Mentor team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and excellence.
• Represent the organization in external communities and events.
