Job summary

Berkley Insurance Asia is seeking a Marine Assistant Underwriter in Hong Kong to support underwriting, administration and servicing of the Marine portfolio across local, regional and international business.

You will work with experienced Marine Underwriters to develop technical underwriting knowledge and grow into broader responsibilities over time. This role offers career development within a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years' experience in insurance operations, underwriting support, policy administration or a similar role.
• Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
• Understanding of insurance underwriting processes and policy administration.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration of new business, renewals, endorsements and policy documentation.
• Prepare quotations, certificates, underwriting correspondence and reports.
• Maintain underwriting systems, records and data quality.
• Assist with portfolio monitoring, renewal reviews and underwriting analysis.
• Liaise with brokers, shared service teams and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Support Marine direct, reinsurance, regional and international programme business.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and ongoing portfolio development.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, Hong Kong Branch, you will support the underwriting, administration and servicing of Berkley Insurance Asia's Marine portfolio across local, regional and international business.
