Job summary

CMB Wing Lung Insurance Company Limited in Hong Kong seeks a seasoned Hull and P&I underwriter to lead underwriting review, pricing, and risk assessment for hull and P&I risks in the local market.

You will manage the portfolio, monitor risk exposure, maintain broker and client relationships, and contribute to strategic projects. The role requires at least five years’ hull and P&I underwriting experience and fluency in English and Cantonese.

Qualifications

• Degree holder or above with marine insurance experience in HK.
• Strong knowledge of HK hull and Brown Water P&I markets and clauses.
• At least 5 years hull & P&I underwriting experience in HK local vessels.
• Familiar with insurance laws and local regulations.
• Independent, mature, and team-oriented with good communication.

• Drive growth and tactical execution of HK marine insurance business focused on hull and P&I.
• Oversee risk assessment, underwriting review and pricing for hull and P&I.
• Manage and optimize hull and P&I portfolio; monitor risk exposure.

Job description

Drive the growth and tactical execution of Hong Kong marine insurance business with primary focus on hull and brown water P&I business.

Oversee and conduct risk assessment, underwriting review and pricing for hull and P&I insurance; evaluate risks of complex hull and P&I policies, with solid experience in hull and Hong Kong Brown Water P&I underwriting.

Participate in managing and optimizing the Company’s hull and P&I insurance portfolio, monitor portfolio quality and risk exposure.

Maintain relationships with company’s clients and broker partners, identify business opportunities and provide support to the team.

Undertake ad-hoc tasks and strategic projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Degree holder or above with working experience in Marine Insurance, Shipping, or Logistics.

Familiar with Hong Kong marine insurance market, in particular the hull and Hong Kong Brown Water P&I insurance market;

At least 5 years’ hull and P&I underwriting experience and proven extensive underwriting expertise in Hong Kong local vessel business.

In-depth knowledge of clauses and coverage for marine Hull and P&I policies, as well as insurance laws and regulations.

Mature, independent, and self-motivated with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

Good team collaboration and communication skills.

Excellent command of written and spoken English and Cantonese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
