Job summary

The Insurance Authority invites a results-focused professional to drive Market Development initiatives in Hong Kong. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Market Development, you will help shape strategies that enhance the territory’s standing as a premier insurance hub and risk-management centre.

You will engage with insurers, reinsurers, intermediaries and industry bodies, translating insights into actions that advance market growth and competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, insurance, business studies or related fields
• Proven skills in strategic planning and stakeholder engagement
• Experience in business development and project management
• Fluency in English; Chinese language skills preferred

• Formulate strategies to promote the external image and strengthen Hong Kong as a global insurance hub
• Identify ways to facilitate market development through analysis, outreach and engagement
• Maintain regular contact with insurers, reinsurers, intermediaries, associations and market participants to garner support

Job description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Market Development, the incumbent will assume the following:

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate effective strategies to promote the external image and strengthen the competitiveness of Hong Kong as a global insurance hub and risk management centre
• Identify ways to facilitate the development of the insurance industry through market analysis, industry outreach and engagement, etc.
• Maintain regular contact and engage with insurers, reinsurers, intermediaries, industry associations and other market participants to seek inputs and garner support for market development initiatives
• Other duties as assigned by senior management to facilitate the market development function of IA

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in finance, insurance, business studies or related fields
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, consultancy/business advisory or public sector
• Knowledge of the general insurance sector or specialty lines and exposure to international/regional insurance (or reinsurance) markets will be an advantage
• Proven skills in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, business development and relationship/project management
• Excellent command of spoken and written English is required; good command of spoken and written Chinese is preferred
