China Merchants Bank Co., Ltd., Hong Kong Branch is recruiting for a Manager - Custody Operations (Corporate Action) in the Custody Services Department. The role oversees end-to-end corporate action events across HK, Stock Connect, US and global markets.
You will prepare notifications, manage elections, ensure deadlines and controls, and maintain regulatory documentation. Strong communication in Cantonese and English is required, with Putonghua preferred.
Process and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of mandatory and voluntary corporate action events of different types of products across Hong Kong, Stock Connect, US, and global markets;
Prepare and distribute corporate action notifications, election forms, entitlement reports, and communications to clients and other stakeholders;
Ensure all corporate action events are processed accurately and within established service standards and market deadlines;
Handle client elections and instructions, and escalations while maintaining strong operational controls and risk management standards;
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements;
Prepare and maintain operational procedures, policies, and control documentation, ensuring ongoing accuracy and regulatory compliance;
Support US income reconciliation and tax reporting requirements where applicable
Respond enquiries and requests from clients, front office and settlement agents
Review audit request responses to agents before submission
Design and review various control reports and external reports
Participate in platform transformation initiatives, system enhancements, UAT testing, and migration projects
Regular review and update training material, procedure and manual
Other ad-hoc duties assigned by team head
Requirements:
5 years of experience in securities settlement, at least 2 years as Checker
Familiar with operating Settlement modules of various settlement systems, including but not limited to OCP, CCASS, eCMT, Citi Velocity, JPM Markets, Easyway and Xact
Knowledge of SWIFT Category 5 messages are preferred
Detail oriented, independent thinking and demonstrate problem solving skill
Able to liaise with internal and external parties to resolve processing issues
Being a good team player and self-motivated
Good communication skills, both Cantonese and English, and Putonghua is also preferred
Proficient in use of MS-Word, MS-Excel, and both Chinese and English typing
Willing to work on shift, public holidays, and inclement weather conditions
Pass Paper 1 of TheLicensing Examinationfor Securities and Futures Intermediaries is preferred
Less experience candidate is welcome, will also be considered as Assistant Manager
