Job summary

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the Trackwork and Simulcast team within Broadcasting Operations in Hong Kong. You will oversee, plan, and execute production, staffing, and operations for live race coverage and related video formats for on-air, social media and display screens.

Responsibilities include maintaining team performance, resolving operational issues, coordinating with departments, and ensuring compliance with gambling regulations.

About the Role

The Trackwork and Simulcast team within Broadcasting Operations is responsible for live coverage of local and overseas horse racing in Hong Kong, the production of related promotional video, and the formatting of betting and racing information into TV graphic displays and documentaries for on-air broadcast, social media and racecourse display screens. The role oversees, plans, arranges and executes production, manpower resources and operations for the team. It sits within the Racing Division, which manages all aspects of Hong Kong's world-class horse racing across the full value chain, from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity and international engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the standard of performance of the team
• Resolve all kinds of issues regarding manpower, services and operations
• Sustain and allocate appropriate manpower and resources for live operations and project production
• Work closely with the team manager on staff training and development for race day and non-race day operations
• Oversee, plan, arrange and execute all Trackwork videos pre- and post-production workflow
• Take care of all administrative work for the team
• Co-ordinate with other teams or departments to ensure smooth live or daily operations
• Ensure compliance with the Responsible Gambling Policy (RGP) and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club's business
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Line Manager

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Journalism, Communication, Languages, Advertising, Multi-Media & Video Production or a related discipline
• A minimum of 6 years' copy-writing experience with an advertising agency
• Familiarity with the local and overseas horse racing industry, with hands-on editing experience
• Good sense of trends and the initiative to stay up to date
• Self-motivated and proactive approach
• Good communication skills with proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese
• Ability to work independently under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
• Willingness to work long and irregular hours
• Ability to travel frequently to China as operations require

Preferred Skills

• Experience in live broadcast operations
• Knowledge of and interest in horse racing
