Job summary

Lingnan University is inviting applications for a Library Officer role in the Library. The position focuses on data processing, BI and data visualization, and the development of in-house dashboards and reports to support library operations and institutional reviews.

The candidate will build pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, and ensure high-quality data presentation for decision-makers. Evening/weekend shifts are required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, IT, CS, or related field.
• At least 3 years in data processing, BI/reporting, or application development.
• Experience building interactive dashboards with Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI.
• Experience with cloud app development (AWS) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of library services platforms (Ex Libris Alma or Primo) is highly desirable.
• Strong command of English and Chinese; good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide system support, development, and enhancements for library applications and databases.
• Establish automated data pipelines via APIs, SQL, or webhooks for dashboards.
• Collect, clean, transform, and aggregate data from diverse sources.
• Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and data pipelines.
• Evaluate data sources and visual designs for bias or misinterpretation.
• Prepare data visuals for administrative reports and strategic reviews.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
• Shift duties during evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
