Job summary

China Telecom Global Limited is seeking a data privacy attorney to oversee global data protection policy implementation and ensure compliance with GDPR, PIPL, and PDPO. You will draft notices, assess privacy impacts, and advise on related agreements. Strong English and Chinese language skills are required, with 3+ years PQE in privacy law.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law or related legal field.
• Minimum 3 years’ PQE in data/privacy law.
• TMT industry experience preferred.
• CIPP/E credential is a plus.
• Proficient in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English.

Job description

• Oversee the implementation and ongoing adherence to the company’s global data protection policies, ensuring alignment with applicable laws (e.g., GDPR, PIPL, PDPO) and regulatory frameworks;
• Draft, review and advice on applicable privacy impact assessments, agreements and notices where appropriate;
• Proactively track global regulatory developments, formulate actionable compliance strategies to company;
• Provide legal advice and support in a wide range of compliance matters including data protection and other compliance matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Law or any other legal related subjects;
• At least 3 years’ PQE or legal experience in data/privacy law practice;
• Prior experience in TMT industry preferred;
• CIPP/E credential is a plus;
• Good command of spoken and written Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English is a must;
• Self-motivated, independent, organized, able to work under pressure, responsible and attentive to details;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
