Job summary

Y-Intercept (Hong Kong) Limited is a quantitative investment management firm seeking a lead infrastructure engineer to architect and optimize trading and research environments in Hong Kong. You will drive data center migrations, domain decoupling, and performance tuning for low-latency trading workflows.

The role requires extensive experience with networking, virtualization, AWS, and storage systems, plus strong leadership and collaboration with traders and developers.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in data center and cloud infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in networking, virtualization, cloud platforms (AWS), and storage solutions (Pure Storage, Ceph, GPFS, VAST Data).
• Experience with latency-sensitive workloads and Kernel tuning.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef).
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
• Experience in exchange connectivity and proximity hosting; knowledge of market data feeds and FIX.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to lead a team and collaborate with traders and developers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement robust infrastructure solutions for trading (performance focus) and research (scale focus).
• Lead data center migrations, domain decoupling, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Implement solutions to monitor latency, detect anomalies, troubleshoot performance issues quickly, and gain a single source of truth for complex trading environments (e.g. Corvil).
