Responsibilities
The role of the Functional Architect is responsible for working on complex projects, ensuring delivery of software solutions that are aligned with AXA’s standardized processes and business goals. The role also contributes to investigating user requirements/problems and defining and implementing IT solutions that satisfy business needs for High Net Worth (HNW) Insurance business.
- Contribute to the translation of business requirements into technical solution options
- Contribute to the development of functional specifications that meet the client’s needs
- Undertake ST/SIT testing to ensure local applications meet specifications and assist in the resolution of identified problems
- Provide problem resolution and user support
- Discover the underlying business need to be addressed and gather information related to product and project requirements
- Analyse, organise, specify and model requirements (Function & Non‑Function) to ensure they are complete and unambiguous
- Specify requirements in a format that can be shared with stakeholders
- Validate and verify requirements ensuring they map to real business needs, are approved by stakeholders, and meet quality standards
- Analyse solutions to determine appropriate approaches and improve applications when appropriate
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in an IT discipline or related field
- 8+ years’ professional experience in a leadership role in IT
- 8+ years as a Business System Analyst or in a related IT role
- Relevant experience in insurance or other financial services preferred
- Experience leading, managing and coaching high‑performing staff
- Proven ability to undertake and manage large‑scale complex IT projects independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships with others
- Well‑organised and results‑driven
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Strong, highly skilled communicator, motivated to contribute to organization and teams
- Decisive and confident, with a strong personality based on facts
